the grandiose mountain world of the large Caucasus on an adventurous journey by horse and by foot through Khevsureti, the age-old borderland of the Christian mountain people of the Khevsurs in the northern Georgia. We travel on age-old mountain routes in the company of native hunters, mountain leaders and German travel company by unaffected valleys, along snow-covered summits over passes, cross crystal-clear mountain creeks and flowering valleys. The Caucasus in this area last undiscovered paradies of this earth for culture researchers, nature lovers and adventurers.
On our journey we visit the Khevsurian mountain villages Juta, Roshka and the remote Archoty, enjoy the hospitality of the mountain inhabitants in their simple and appropriate houses, visit shepherders in their summercamps and can watch them work with their animals.
The journey through Kvesureti grants unique views of the traditions and customs in the culture and the way of life of the mountain inhabitants. The culinary crude specialities and exotic courts of the Khevsurian kitchen with Georgian hospitality will let perhaps rare feelings of sociability and mutual attention for different ways of life may become a real expirience.
The to a large extent intact Flora and Fauna of the Khevsurian mountain world leave many possibilities open for the meeting with rare plants and animals. We specify the date for your journeys
to Khevsureti if possible according to your desires. Khevsureti can be
travelled depending on the high mountain weather conditions from the
middle of June to the middle of September safely.

Arrival in Tbilissi, the Georgian capital.
To a short round travel by the metropolis of Georgia we drive to our accommodation
into the Artist Pension Murtazi, where we may talk in the evening at a typical
informal Georgian board. Jago Arabuli, Khevsur and Professor of Germanistics
at an Institut in Tbilisi will give in a short some ideas about the culture
of Georgia and in the special to the culture of Khevsureti. You can visit the
studios of the painters Beshan and Murtazi Shvelidse depending upon your desire.
We drive to a excursion in the old earlier
Georgian capital Mzkheta to the north along the Georgian Military Highway
into the Greater Caucasus inside. We pass the old fortress Ananuri and
the small town Passanauri at the river Aragwi and cross after winding

we drive along the river Pshawi Aragwi via Barissakho into the Khevsurian
village Korsha. There we will be able to become acquainted with our riding
horses.

Getting used to
our horses we undertake rides into the surrounding valleys of Korsha. An attendance

The route into the mountains begins. By forests

the 3012 meters high pass between Roshka and Archoty. In the proximity

Descent by the valley of the rapid Assa to Archoty. Along the way we may visit
the legendary grave of the Caucasus traveller Mrs. Elfriede Kurella. Overnight
accomodation in Archoti with our host Omari.
These two days are available for individual
recovery and for spare time. For horseriding or walks there are various
possibilities. Trout fishing in the river Assa with or without company.
Perhaps we can try also the traditional and delicious Khevsurian beer.
Bath possibility in the Assa. Who would like may learn e.g. the Georgian
alphabet, can collect and dry flowers or play chess or milk cows or
draw mountains and clouds or, or, or under Khevsurian guidance herbs
for the own tea or...
Return journey via Roshka to Korsha
Exkursion by horse or with a car into
the mountain village Batsaligo. On the wonderful valleys bee colonies
collect one of the best honeys in Georgia. Ideal mountain landscapes
demand an able draughtsman or photographer out.
Around 10.00 o'clock back drive to Tbilissi.
Individual inspection of the city and its historical architectural
monuments depending upon desire and preferences (Zoo? Botani garden?
Industrial ruin Rustawi?) when desired in company with a guide. An
unforgettable experience can be an visit of the bazaar of Tbilisi.
Overnight accomodation in the artist pension Murtazi. Depending upon
desire we can go to dive into the Nightlife of Tbilisi and celebrate
